Randy opened with what Pastor's Council is for and their
duties.
Everyone found out what it states in Church of God 1992 Minute's
book. Randy stated the Church is at a point to support the
ministry and it depends on what people want to do.
Pastor shared that our Church has grown and done really well
in the past 3 years. Very few Churches are running what we are,
there is no going back we will lose what we got and that will
bring disappointment. The next year the Council will know and
be a part of what is all that is happening. Randy read from 1992
Minutes the qualifications to be on Pastor's Council so members
will
know whats expected from them, Pastor cannot do it anymore by
himself. He needs to know how members think and feel. Council
members are first chosen by Pastor for a two year term than
voted into positions by Pastor's OK. Pastor enforced members
are only on staff if they are committed and loyal to this
ministry. No less than three to be on Pastor's Council if
attendence is close to 100. Pastor desire is to eventually
have 12 members on Pastor's Council. Pastor explained each of
the qualifecations and duties of the Council members. There is
a one hundred dollar limit on what pastor can do without
Council's
permission. Pastor stated if you have the ability and if you
don't
do it it is sin -Pastor pointed out what the last three years
have accomplished because of people obeying God. Pastor said if
some one approches with division kind of talk tell them you don't
want to hear it. Pastor encouraged members to take Minute books
home and study them.
Pastor stated that we are running a stronger work than
Caldwell
and not to far behind the Boise Church. Bro. Clason discussed
the importance of the Church image. Discussion was was held
about
Pastor and his family's finances -he shared the Minutes book of
salary scale it is $438.00 weekly for 1 to 50 people in Church
membership and this is what the Pastor needs by end of summer
plus
$85.00 for expenses by August first 1993 weekly. Pastor made it
clear if he can't recieve $300.00 weekly now then full scale by
end of summer he will be forced to leave. Pastor has given his
salary plus lots of other personal funds $3,500.00 to make this
Church
work. It will take the faith of people to allow God to provide
for the Church's needs. Pastor quoted scriptures to show how the
Lord feels about how the Church is to support the Pastor.
Pastor encouraged members to help pray for the sick in the
Church
not always have to be called out by Pastor to help him. Bro.
Clason
said he would be glad to assist Pastor for people in need but
feels he needs to know what the Pastor wants and not ruin the
flow of the Holy Spirit. Pastor explained how the Council can
help
him and also allow the proper flowing of the Holy Spirit.
Johnathan stated we are dishonering God by not paying the
Pastor
Bible states we should take care of the man of God. Bro. Garcia
said this body hasn't been established in a building and when we
are then finances would flow easier. Johnathan read the
commentary
on the bennfit of a paid ministry as it was with Elisha, and
ministers
should not be burdened with toils of there own support.
Jonhathan
said the tithe has been going to pay bills because the offering
is not
enough.
Bro. Garcia brought up concern about were we are going to
move as a
Church. Bro. Clason asked are we a mission status Church? Randy
says we have not recieved mission funding from the state office
we are no longer considered or eligible for mission funding.
Discussion was held on the lenghth of the services -Pastor
stated
tarry until the Spirit moves and you will recieve from God.
Salary will
start tommorow 4-18-93 for Pastor $300.00 weekly. Ron stated
the sooner
the body knows were the Church is going people will be more at
ease.
Randy asked for agreement on his salary so he can give his job
notice,
Council agreed and voted yes. Bro. Garcia stated he dosn't know
how
the pastor made it this far.
Randy shared that 1.1 acres land has a building on it than
drew
a illustration to show what it looked like. It is located on
6th Ave.
The Church would like to offer $60,000.00. Building will have
to be
stripped. Children's Church will have to wate 5 to 6 weeks
possibly.
Roof is great and inside building was built 1920 in back area.
Pastor
showed property papers from ERA Realty. Pastor explained
expenses of
buying bare property. 1225 6th Ave. property would have to have
septic
to have mobile home put on for Pastor. Everything on property
will be
sold for cash-boiler would be traded for the use of 2 cats till
property
is cleared. We want to build on to current building to make it
double
sized. To use as Children's Church and office then build a new
Church
on back of property. Ernest money agreement has been made. Copy
presented to Council of offer includes $18,500.00 trade in on
2nd Ave.
Church. Total for buying property would be $41.500 and it has
to be
done now. State has approved $120,000.00 Church grant for us
and pay-
ments at $400. to $500. per and month 0 percent intrest. If the
Church pays mobil home payment it would stay. If the Pastor pays
Mobile
Home payment it would go with the Pastor. Pastor needs a letter
from
the state office by May 1st to move on the property so owners
will know
that the Church of God will be responsible for bills. Randy will
request
$5,000.00 to set up Mobile Home. Pastor shared plans for a new
church
building. Bro. Clason stated what ever is of God you don't have
to rush
into it we need to go carefully & Bro. Garcia agreed. Pastor
could get
one more month's rent were we are because only 10 days to
prepare a
building would be difficult. Bro. Clason will submit to Church
body
finances needed and Randy will have a Church Body business
meeting later
also what is needed is people to committ. Bro Clason asked does
Pastor
have a open ended position in Wash. Randy said no but he would
like to
do some evangelizing and hold revivals. Pastor will never leave
the
pulpit empty he would cover home church services. Pastor's goal
is to
feed, fill, and promote growth and body ministrying. Youth
services
will be starting this Fri. night so youth can have more help.
Pastor
shared Pastor Lonnie Stewert can get building materials for new
Church
at cost and if the Church members can help with labor it will
cut expen-
ses. Ron asked how soon construction could begin, Pastor will be
calling
this week to get final, cost possibly 5 weeks to be in new
santcuary.
Weekly business meetings may be needed during May to keep up with
everything.
